Capacity-building training program on Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB) organized by the Ghana National TB Voice Network

ACT Africa participated in a two-day capacity-building training program on Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DR-TB) organized by the Ghana National TB Voice Network (TB Voice Network) in Accra, Ghana.

The training convened health advocates, civil society organizations, TB champions, and community stakeholders with the aim of strengthening knowledge and skills related to drug-resistant TB prevention, treatment, advocacy, and community engagement. It provided a platform for sharing best practices, enhancing understanding of DR-TB challenges in Ghana, and fostering collaboration among TB-focused networks.

ACT Africa’s representatives engaged actively in the sessions, contributing to discussions on community-led strategies for addressing drug resistance, stigma reduction, patient support, and improving access to quality TB services. Their participation underscored the importance of regional civil society collaboration in the fight against resistant forms of TB and helped bridge community perspectives with national TB control efforts.

The training also offered opportunities to build stronger linkages between ACT Africa and the Ghana TB Voice Network, reinforcing commitments to ongoing advocacy, capacity development, and coordinated action against DR-TB in Ghana and across the African region.

Overall, ACT Africa’s involvement in this initiative reflects its dedication to empowering communities, strengthening TB advocacy networks, and supporting efforts to curb the spread and impact of drug-resistant tuberculosis.
