08 Mar REPORT ON ACT STRATEGIC MEETING WITH COUNTRY PARTNERS AT MJ GRAND HOTEL- EAST LEGON, ACCRA- GHANA
INTRODUCTION:
As part of planned strategic preparations towards the implementation of the component 2 of the Community Engagement Strategic Initiative, a three days training workshop was organized by ACT for its partners at MJ Grand Hotel in Ghana from 6-8 March,2024.
The overarching objectives for this partners meeting was aimed
- Building knowledge on different aspects of CE SI (engagement plan, implementation, reporting)
- Update on the current state of affairs in TB epidemic
- Understand the UN HLM targets, status of achievement per country, and way-forward
- Contextualizing individual experiences within the national / regional/ global fight against TB
- Update from CE SI implementers / OD
- TB advocacy, community mobilization and empowerment:
- Understanding CRG tools

WELCOME ADDRESS BY RACHEL OTU AMPONSAH
Participants to the three days strategic country partners meeting were welcomed by Rachel Otu on behalf of ACT. She expressed her profound gratitude and appreciation to our country partners and the Global Fund representative, Olive Mumba for honouring our invitation for this crucial program.
She concluded by setting out the objective and purpose of the meeting.
PRESENTATION ON COUNTRY SITUATION ANALYSIS
The country partners took turns to present on their respective country situational analysis to enhance the understanding of opportunities and bottlenecks peculiar to their respective countries to engender through discussions aimed at improving their country profiles and engagement plans.
PANEL DISCUSSIONS
They were two panel discussion moderated by Olive Mumba (Global Fund) and Imoro Abudu (ACT AFRICA) in which questions were posed to panel members selected from the country partners to enable the sharing of experiences on role of communities in Health response and sharing of key outcomes on how to strengthen the voices of the TB community at the national level.
GROUP WORK AND PRESENTATION OF ENGAGEMENT PLANS
Participants were put into groups to discuss their engagement plans, identify areas of priorities, opportunities, key barriers and how to refine them. This was followed with a presentation of their respective engagement plans for discussion and fine tunning.
PRESENTATION ON CE SI MEL FRAMEWORK BY OLIVE MUMBA
Olive Mumba undertook an elaborate presentation on CE SI MEL Framework which covered its over view, Key performance indicators, the outcome areas which are very crucial in the development of the key activities by the country partners.
She concluded her presentation on the need for the country partners to develop their individual country activities and prioritise joint activities with other partners to save project cost and build synergy in their work.
