ACT to implement the Global Fund and Stop TB Partnership Strategic Initiative on finding the missing cases
Africa Coalition on TB (ACT) a Regional Network of TB Activists hosted by Afro Global Alliance Ghana (AGA) in consortium with AGA, EANNASO, Nigeria TB Community Forum, Stop TB Partnership Kenya, Treatment Action Campaign, AMIMO and Les Ambassadeurs de Lutte contre la Tuberculose" DRCongo will be implementing the Global Fund and Stop TB Partnership supported Strategic Initiative on finding the missing cases, building Regional National network of people affected by TB and strengthening CSO CCM representatives capacities.
ACT has demonstrated effective capacity in working with local organizations and building coalitions and networks in Ghana, Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, DRC and other regional constituencies outside the RFP focus countries and as well as working with technical partners in all its projects for example supporting the establishment of Stop TB Ghana and Nigeria, ACT Nigeria, Non-State Actors Accountability platform and technical assistance to organizations applying for Stop TB Partnership Geneva Challenge Facility and TB REACH.
The project goal is to strengthen the capacity of the Regional and National coalitions and networks to meaningfully engage in TB advocacy, policy development and management. And the objectives are;
- To improve the knowledge of TB affected people, national and regional networks of TB activist to effectively engage in TB programmes.
- To mobilize and empower a pool of Africa Regional and National TB Advocates in TB financing, advocacy, community systems, human rights and gender.
- To Improved the level of TB constituency representation on various national platforms including the CCM and high level engagements
- To identify TB priorities and develop advocacy roadmap at national and regional.
The project will be implemented in six countries namely Tanzania, Nigeria, Kenya, DRC, Mozambique and South Africa.
